About this plant
Eriobotrya japonica, the loquat, is an evergreen shrub or small tree with large, leathery leaves and a bold architectural outline. It benefits from a warm, sheltered position in full sun and fertile soil with good drainage. Although it can produce yellow-orange fruit, reliable ripening is uncommon in much of the UK, so it is best chosen primarily for its foliage. The current listed container size is 55 litres.
