About this plant

Narrow, onion-scented leaves form a small clump beneath rounded heads of pale purple flowers, bringing late-summer colour and an orderly outline to borders, rock gardens and containers.

Growing and care

• Light: Full sun or partial shade; moist but well-drained soil.
• Mature height: Around 30 cm at maturity; not the height of the plant supplied.
• Watering: Water when needed to maintain moisture while allowing excess water to drain.
• Seasonal interest: Mid–late summer
• Hardiness / temperature: RHS H6: minimum winter temperature range -20 to -15°C.
• Soil: Moist but well-drained soil.
• Aftercare: Protect the unpotted roots from drying out before planting.
